You’re in the right place
At times you may feel like you’ve lost yourself trying to be who or what you thought others wanted or needed you to be. You may be exceptional at taking care of the people in your life but also feel invisible in your own pain and challenges. You can get blindsided by your response to things, switching between not even being sure what you feel most of the time to feeling totally overwhelmed. There have been really good reasons why you needed to show up in these ways at one point in your life, but they're not working for you anymore.
Let’s explore what gets in the way of living the life you want.
My Therapeutic Approach: Warm, Direct, and Effective
Whether online or in person, my clients describe me as warm, direct, down-to-earth, and they walk away feeling seen and cared for. I break down complex clinical ideas in digestible ways so my clients can apply the insights they get between sessions. In therapy with me, you don’t have to feel the “right” thing or have made the “best” choice. We can simply explore the richly complex person that you are and what’s in the way of you being who you want to be.
In our sessions, I’ll help you slow things down so we can tease apart what’s driving your symptoms. Together we will explore the root of what’s getting in the way of a healthier connection to yourself and get curious about the nuances of your experience, instead of just trying to change it.
As you work through what has hurt you and what stands in the way of being who you want, you naturally move into a healthier, fuller, and more authentic version of yourself. You can get there faster when you have a trained, caring, empathetic, and curious human to sit with you in the pain of your experience; who listens without judgment; who offers tools and teaches you about your nervous system; who helps you make sense of your experience; and who can help you re-examine how you interact with the world. I’d love to be that human for you.
My guiding principles
Collaboration
What do you most want for yourself? Discovering your own answer to this question and helping you work through whats in the way of living it is how I orient sessions. I work together with my clients to support the change they are looking for.
Empowerment
I support my clients in rediscovering the power they hold in their life and start stepping into that power every day. I love this work and I feel most energized witnessing clients’ transformations.
Curiosity
Curiosity is the antidote to shame, judgement, and self critique. When we can get curious about a pattern and discover why it made sense at one point, that insight opens up the possibility for change.
Depth-Oriented
It is vital to look beneath surface symptoms and get at the origin of wounds. When we find deep healing, our day to day experience shifts.
